Festa Schedule (Post #5) - Happy Feast

Today, we are reaching the climax of our festa and the main reason behind preparing this Festa Schedule 2010.

Hope that you are enjoying our live commentaries from our OB at the Qala Square together with the help of the live webcam streaming and thank you for participating in all our programmes. Remember that this year's schedule is not going to end today - Sunday, 1st August - but we still got another week ahead to keep you entertained with our programmes.

On behalf of the Administration and Crew of Radju Lehen il-Qala, we would like to wish a happy feast to all our listeners especially our dear emigrants who tune in from all over the world, the elderly and sick people and those who take care of them and all the Qalin. May our Patron, Saint Joseph bless us all and keeps a watchful eye on us throughout our daily routine - work and/or studies - this year and always.

Festa Schedule 2010 (Post #4) - Happy 14th Birthday RLQ

Yesterday, Sunday 25th July 2010, on the occasion of the 14th year from which Radju Lehen il-Qala started broadcasting, RLQ held a competition bonanza for all its listeners throughout all the live programmes of the day - Qomna Jew, Muzikomania, Only Country, Ilwien Muzikali.

The question consisted of the listeners trying to guess how many steps are there when you walk along the coastline from Hondoq ir-Rummien bay in Qala to Dwejra, San Lawrenz if you take the path from Tac-Cawl, Imgarr, Xatt l-Ahmar, Imgarr ix-Xini, Ta' Cenc cliffs, Xlendi, Ghadira ta' San Raflu - Kercem and finally Dwejra. A total of 210 participants took part in this competition either by phoning in or through sms.

The correct answer - that of 31, 156 steps - was announced this morning at 9.15am during RLQ's breakfast-show Qomna Jew. Below is a table that shows the closest three participants and the winner of €50 voucher from Arcadia Ltd, Gozo with special thanks goes to Antoine Portelli.


We would like to take this opportunity to thank all those who contributed in RLQ's success during the past 14 years, from the very beginning to the present day. Thank you also to all the benefactors that contribute financially to the running of this community radio station.

Webcam on/off

The issue about the the webcam working and sometimes not working is because currently we are testing the possibilities of a camera that would allow unlimited number of persons accessing the camera at the same time. The current system allows for a maximum number of around 16 users to access the camera at the same time. Therefore, for the festa time it would be quite unfair for the 17th and 18th .... user as they would not be allowed to access the webcam and will be displayed with an error message of overcapacity. Moreover, those 16 users would have a very slow service.

We apologize for any inconvenience encountered but this is all being done to offer you a better service.

Festa Schedule 2010 (Post #3) - 1063 Weekend

Thank you for the massive 1063 Weekend

It was surely a huge success thanks to all the helpers, sponsors, the donations and the presence of a lot of people during all activities (car wash, foorball tournament, BBQ, All Night Long, Pre-World Cup Final Game 2010, Tombola Night and watching the World Cup Final Game at the Qala Square). The total amount of money raised during the 10-11th July weekend was the wonderful sum of €2339. This money will go to pay the last few pending ċedoli.
